Camera's first trip outside

We took the camera (let's call her Niki, for that is her name) to Grizedale forest for her first trip out. A place of many happy memories for me on childhood camping trips, that is now just twenty minutes away by car, how lucky I am!

I like all the different colours you can find in the forest. It's bizarre that even in March there are still some Autumnal colours clinging on. In the pictures below I was playing around with focusing the camera on different things again to see what effects I could create.

A classic Katie pose above, on what we believe to be one of Grizedale's sculptures (we didn't have an information leaflet to help us decipher what if means!). Below is a picture of my charming husband flying down the hill on his bike. Katie and I left him to play while we went for a walk, and caught up with him later. Niki's information booklet informed me how to operate a continuous shutter mode. This means that a long as you hold down the 'take-the-photo-big-red-button' the camera keeps taking pictures as fast as it can so you don't miss the moment. This is a pretty useful feature I think for mountain biking as it is notoriously difficult to capture the biker just as they take off.
